Lojong Slogan 48~Train without bias in all areas. It is crucial always to do this pervasively and wholeheartedly

This is part 48 of my series on Lojong, a Buddhist mind training practice.loving-kindness-meditationThis slogan asks that we pay particular attention to our post-meditation practice. When we meditate in silence it is formless, it is more conceptual. When we take that which we meditate on and incorporate it into our lives we experience the meditation as something more tangible in a sense. Once able to take the practice and apply it to the nitty gritty of everyday living through our interactions with others, we are really getting it.Acharya Judy Lief explains "If you are biased and have fixed views about what it takes to be able to practice lojong, it is easy to come up with all sorts of excuses as to why it is so difficult to practice. You can complain about all the obstacles you face and how your circumstances are never quite right." She goes on to explain that when we practice without bias, we practice on the spot as opposed to waiting for the right circumstances to come along. She goes on to suggest memorizing a couple of slogans each day and putting them into practice.Click the Lojong link at the top to start at the beginning.Together, we can build more love and compassion in this world.
