Thanks!

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” ~William Arthur Ward

Here in Canada today is Thanksgiving day. Ordinarily the weather is getting cooler at this time of year, although we've had some pretty warm weather lately. The sun is shining on the colored leaves and it's quite beautiful. I'm thankful that I live in an area with a lot of natural beauty, that when I remember to notice I don't need to use a lot of imagination to find the beauty in the moment. I'm thankful for the things that we tend to forget to be thankful for- having a nice warm home, plenty of food to eat, a job that pays decently. These things really should be a given, but there are so many people that don't have them.

I'm thankful for my family always. For their support and kindness, for their love, their laughter. I'm thankful that we're such a close family that can turn to each other when we're feeling out of sorts, and we'll even likely get some good advice if we want it. I'm thankful to always have good friends in them.

I'm thankful for the spiritual community I have here. They've given me more support than they could really know. They've allowed me to grow in a way I couldn't on my own. And of course, I'm thankful for having found a path through yoga. And for being able to pass that knowledge on to others. I am grateful to my students who come to my classes and allow me to keep teaching.

thankgiving, thanks

I'm also thankful for this blogging community that I've discovered this year. I'm thankful that you read my words. It seemed kind of scary to press publish that first time when my words didn't seem perfect, but you don't seem to mind. I'm thankful for the kind words and all the likes and of course the follows. Thanks for coming on this journey of learning with me and giving me your thoughts from time to time.

There's so much to be thankful for and I can't really express it all here. But I will work to always express my thanks to those for which I am thankful.
